Answering your critical transportation questions

We bring creative, data-driven, and holistic solutions to challenging transportation problems

Data analytics and visualization

We leverage data of all shapes and sizes with simple and effective visualizations to get you the actionable insights you need.

Systemic and targeted safety engineering

Whether you need areawide policies or specific countermeasures at an intersection, we bring the knowledge and on-the-ground experience to deliver them.

Multimodal traffic operations

We know first-hand how people move by car, transit, bicycle, and foot. That is why our traffic studies emphasize multimodal comfort, safety, and mobility.

Breadth of experience

We have experience with most types of transportation planning and traffic engineering projects, but below are a few highlights:

Telling the story of trips on BRT

  • As part of the SR 436 Transit Corridor Study, we developed an innovative analysis to tell how users’ trips would be improved by a Bus Rapid Transit alternative.
  • We used LYNX’s own origin-destination survey along open-source trip routing and visualization software.
  • In addition to projected ridership estimates, LYNX was able to present real data on how Bus Rapid Transit would save valuable time to current users.

Using connected vehicle data for proactive safety

  • The rich detail and coverage of connected vehicle datasets complements traditional safety datasets like crashes.
  • We used vehicle trajectories to understand where the most critical conflicts between turning vehicles and pedestrians are.
  • In addition, we also used connected vehicle data to inform on speeding hotspots throughout the entire Orlando region.

Solving complex traffic engineering questions

  • We have helped answer unique transportation questions for our clients using outside-the-box thinking and cutting-edge data and software.
  • For FDOT, we simulated the effect of a bus queue jump that could also be used by a small number of passenger vehicles.
  • Working with Chick-fil-A, we conducted an analysis based on transaction data and drone footage of typical queues, helping prove the suitability of a site redesign.
