A simple tool to gather with fewer emissions

Greca stands for “Gathering with Reduced Emissions Calculator” and is a simple web-based tool for organizations planning “off-site” events. With a few clicks, event organizers can quantify the emissions and travel time/mileage associated with transportation to and from the event.

I also included some other tips for gathering in-person while impacting our environment as little as possible. I enjoy in-person gatherings and think that they’re especially important for remote-first workplaces.

This first version is a simple start to help me get some concepts down. But if the tool proves helpful to others, it could mature to include transit options, a way to calibrate how far people are willing to drive, and full editing capabilities on the results table so that the user can input different assumptions.
